Molybdenum Disulphide coatings are commonly used in applications where load carrying capacity, operating temperature and coeficient of friction are primary concerns. Moly coatings lubricate sacrificially by transferring lubricant between the two surfaces, helping to reduce wear and friction.

Benefits of a Sherardized Duplex Coating
- The sacrificial protection of the Sherardized layer and the barrier protection of the organic or inorganic coating greatly enhances the corrosion resistance when comparing the protection offered by using each system separately.
- The Sherardized coating, unlike other anti corrosion processes such as galvanizing, requires no primer or surface finishing prior to the application of additional coatings such as fluoropolymer or inorganic coatings.
- The properties of the secondary coating are applied to the component for example improved chemical and wear resistance, reduced friction, and improved aesthetics or colour coding for identification.

Zinc Phosphate Passivation
Passivation is the removal of surface contaminants produced by machining and fabrication. The contaminants are potential corrosion sites which ultimately result in the deterioration of a component if not removed. Xylan® Fluoropolymers (Sherarseal).
