Sherardize

Features and Benefits

  • Long Term Corrosion Protection-Salt Spray to ASTM B117 in excess of 1000 hours, dependant on coating thickness.
  • Uniform and Controlled Coating Thickness-Local Coating Thickness of 15-80 microns, thicker coatings available.
  • Wear Resistant-Due to the iron content of the Sherardized layer, it is the hardest of the zinc finishes.
  • Excellent Adhesion as the coating forms an alloy layer with the substrate.
  • Cost Efficient-A Long term and Maintenance Free Coating.
  • Accepts Top Coats Without the Need for Primer or Surface Finishing.

The Standards In Use For Sherardized Coatings

BS EN 13811:2003

Sherardizing - Zinc diffusion coatings on ferrous products.
The European Standard above has the status of a British Standard and is replacing BS4921.

Sherardize P1000®

Long Term, Uniform and Wear Resistant Corrosion Protection for Use on Steel Components.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
